In The Mix 1.0 - The Killabits - Hot 107.1 FM Mix

 In the past month or so I've been featuring a lot of mixes and this has lead me to introduce a new weekly feature "In The Mix". To kick things off I wanted to feature a favourite DJ/Production duo of mine, The Killabits. The Killabits did a live to air radio feature mix on Denver's Hot 107.1 FM and they have graciously released the mix as a free download via their SoundCloud (link below). The mix, which features primarily dubstep originals and remixes, will be a great addition to my iPod and perfect for those 'heavier' pre-drinks!  The Grid TO has recently named The Killabits 'One To Watch' in the coming months ahead. Brand New: Felix Cartal - No Sleep (feat. Natalie Angiuli)

Felix Cartal's single "No Sleep" is finally here and upon my first listen 30 seconds ago, I'm literally already obsessed. It's really everything you would expect from Cartal and more. A great progression of his unique style featuring elements of dance, house, electro and everything in between. The song also features the beautiful vocals of Natalie Angiuli and the two of them (Cartal & Natalie) actually wrote the vocal melodies and lyrics together. Clearly an unstoppable duo, if you ask me. The song won't officially be available until December 4th, however, you can check out the song in full courtesy of the man himself, Mr. Felix Cartal, below!

Diamond In the Rough: Spotlight Feature - Ted Hunter

About a year ago  Ted Hunter made his public debut with the release of  a few tracks that I absolutely loved and had on repeat for the months to follow. Since then, Hunter has definitely progressed  through his style and production abilities. It seems he's quickly learning the ins and outs of the production side to EDM music and has pumped out a bunch of bangers since his first release (check it out here). Below, are some of my favourite Ted Hunter songs along with his most popular (check for free downloads). Congratulations to Ted Hunter for hitting well over 100,000 views on his Youtube Channel and just about 100,000 views to his remix of Flo Rida's "Whistle"! He's just on the brink of releasing some new material so stay tuned for more to come.

Calvin Harris – Sweet Nothing (Diplo & Grandtheft Remix)

Trap music is literally hitting the world, or the EDM world that is by storm and it is taking over! The incredible collaboration between Calvin Harris & Florence + The Machine's, Florence Welch "Sweet Nothing" has been remixed into a great trap tune by Diplo & Grandtheft. Friday Night Pre-Drink: Florence and the Machine - You've Got the Love (3.A.M. Remix)

I wanted to post this remix that 3.A.M. did about 2 weeks ago to a favourite of mine, Florence + The Machine's, "You've Got the Love". Rihanna Ft. Kanye West – Diamonds Remix

After a killer performance at The Danforth Music Hall this past Thursday in Toronto as apart of her 777 Tour, Rihanna has put out a remix to her latest single, "Diamonds". The remix features super star rapper, Kanye West and he lays down a great rap verse that is just under 2 minutes. The collaboration is no surprise considering the two have worked together multiple times before. Rihanna's newest album, "Unapologetic" drops this Tuesday, everywhere. I'm excited to hear what she has in store for us.

John Dahlbäck - Jackal Mockson

John Dahlbäck released his EP "The Trip" two days ago and luckily enough I stumbled upon one of the tracks from it, "Jackal Mackson". I've obviously heard of John Dahlbäck before and listened to his music, however, nothing has caught my attention like this original!  The heavy dance vibe got my head bobbin' in all directions. Not to mention, the other tracks on the EP are great as well. This release comes off the Dim Mak records label and you can grab your copy here or from Beatport and Spotify!

All That Glitters - This Sound (Felix Cartal Remix)

Felix Cartal dropped his latest remix and I am really feeling the dance vibe takeover. The original, "This Sound" by All That Glitters is a dancey track to begin with featuring vocals the sexy vocals of Polina, one of Cartals favourite artist to feature on  track. Brand New: Yuna - Lullabies (Adventure Club Remix)

My favourite DJ/Production duo from Montreal, Canada, Adventure Club, have just released their remix of the very talented Malaysian singer Yuna's "Lullabies". The original song has very beautiful vocals and lyrics that resonate with you upon first listen and when matched with the talent of Adventure Club, the song is quickly transformed into a mellow, yet upbeat dancey dub track! I must say, I'm a huge fan. The initial rise and drop of the song really sucked me in, as many of their remixes do! Check it out below, it's also a free download.

Toronto based EDM DJs/Producers Dzeko & Torres have just released their new bi-weekly Podcast "RAVE'N 001" and it is sounding great. All of your favourite EDM bangers and more! Introducing: Rekoil!

I am very excited to be introducing to you Baltimore based dubstep producer Rekoil! Hot off the press is his debut EP "Reloaded" and it's a banger to say the least. Rekoil, who is 18 and still considerably fresh in the music scene has made huge progress with his music. Not every EDM producer gets to release their debut EP on Datsik's record label, Firepower Records, however, this rising star has! Rekoil has garnered support for this EP from the likes of Datsik, Downlink, Ajapai, Liquid Stranger, and Excision just to name a few. My personal favourites off the EP are "Pretzel Twist" and "Doomsday". The sound of the EP is similar to that of Knife Party and Excision, with a very personal touch that sets Rekoil apart from his counteracts. Check out the full EP below!

Borgore Ft. Miley Cyrus – Decisions (Mutrix Remix)

By now you should have heard Borgore's anthem "Decisions" featuring none other than Miley Cyrus. He released a music video about a week ago that featured both artists and of course, CAKE. Today, I bring you a brand new remix by Mutrix, a Producer I wasn't aware of until now. I'm a huge fan of the original and definitely anticipated a handful of great remixes and this is it. Young Wolf Hatchlings & Thomas D'Arcy - You Lovely You [FREE DOWNLOAD]

Brand new out of the Toronto EDM scene comes 2 guys that go by the stage name Young Wolf Hatchlings. They've just put out their first release, a remix to Thomas D'Arcy's "You Lovely You" and it's sounding great. A mellow dubstep rendition that hits all the right notes and then some. The 'drops' aren't out of control and I think that's why I like this remix so much. Really excited to here what's to come from these guys, however, for now I'm just going to sit back and enjoy this tune (also a free download).
